There are some very good useable sounds on this, rhythms, and accompaniment. If you could buy this for $200 you would likely enjoy it. Using just the piano voices, I doubt you would run into any dropped or clipped notes. I don't think any of the piano sounds have 10 note polyphony, however there are a handful of other sounds that are limited. I've not run into any problems with the low polyphony and I use the on board accompaniment regularly. The main limitation on it is the polyphony which is 32 notes.

#Casio privia px 575r midi driver for mac series
It's based on the older series WK series workstations 3000-3800. It can be described as a poor man's synth with weighted keys. I also own one of these and have owned it for a little more than 4 years. If you're an intermediate to advanced player you'll probably run into its limitations pretty quickly. If you're a beginner and you can talk the guy down to $200ish, it's probably a pretty good choice. I've thought about selling mine on ebay since I don't really use it anymore, I'd be thrilled if I got $200 for it. I'm a mac person so I never played around with it.
#Casio privia px 575r midi driver for mac software
You should be aware that it came with some windows software on CD for controlling the organ drawbars and such, if the guy still has it, you may want to get it. The onboard speakers are o.k I guess, but I haven't used them in forever (when I play it I use phones so as not to disturb my coworkers). It does have headphone outputs and an input for a mic, but no dedicated line outs to connect to external monitors. The other problem is that it has very limited connectivity options, It has a USB port, and you can download a USB midi driver for it somewhere (I may have it bookmarked if you have trouble finding it). On some samples the polyhpony is 32 notes but on the best stereo piano samples, the polyphony is like 10 notes (I don't recall exactly but it's absurdly low).

The action is decent and it has some decent piano sounds. It's got some surprising features such as a modeled organ with (virtual) drawbar support, an effects engine and a synth engine that give the user quite a bit of tweaking options for a board in its class. I have one in my office that I still tinker with during breaks sometimes.
